A look back at Expo 2018.  Master the Masters The annual Kitchen Equipment & New Technology Expo was last week in the FH&W, Inc. Culinary Lab & Warehouse.  We celebrated 18 years of hosting this event.  Expo is tradeshow meets networking meets educational conference fusion event.  And it was AMAZING! Our theme was Master the Masters and the folks at Augusta would have surely applauded our efforts.  The sponsors (named below) were either decked out in golf ensems or their booths were.  That level of involvement was fun and the building was a sea of green….kelly green of course. Sponsors showed up to teach.  It was great.  The “booths” had new products, technology upgrades and food safety tools to keep consumers safe.   The energy of Expo was high and that made for a fun day for everyone. The leader board announced hourly door prize winners and the caterers were always present with some yummy morsel.  Outside we had 4 valet attendants so guests didn’t have to search for a spot or worry about the rain. Educational breakout sessions included a panel of millennials to answer foodservice operator and designer questions about loyalty, delivery, experience and what makes them tick.  Our panelists were Lindsey Nicks, Anthony Pritchett and Eric Richardson.   Another session was presented by Joe Carbonara who is well known for his industry insight.  Joe is the Executive Editor at Zoomba Group for both FE&S Magazine and restaurant & design magazine.  Joe’s topics ranged from automation, delivery to other paths operators should consider to stay relevant and thrive.  The last session of the day was a duo of media presenters.  Justin Olivares with Forbes Hever & Wallace and Alicia Braun, RD, LD Dietitian with Coppell ISD presented the why’s and how’s of using digital marketing in K-12 operations. It was a great event and we are already wondering how in the world will 2019 be better!!!
